The diving on this liveaboard trip was absolutely amazing and truly the highlight of the experience. Every dive was well planned, beautiful, and memorable. The crew went above and beyond to make sure guests felt supported, safe, and taken care of throughout the trip, and their dedication really showed.
The food deserves special recognition—it was incredible, plentiful, and consistently exceeded expectations. A standout was Megan, who took extra time and care to guide less experienced participants on dives that were appropriate and comfortable for their experience level. Her patience, professionalism, and attentiveness made a huge difference and helped build confidence underwater.
That said, the boat itself was clearly showing its age. The cabins and hallways had a persistent, unpleasant odor, and the overall condition of the vessel felt tired and in need of significant renovation. While it didn’t detract from the quality of the diving or the crew’s efforts, it did impact overall comfort onboard and experience.
In summary, this trip delivered exceptional diving, an outstanding crew, and fantastic food—but the aging condition of the boat holds it back from being a truly top-tier liveaboard experience.
This liveaboard trip was truly a tale of two very different experiences.
First, the staff were absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the crew went above and beyond to make the trip special. They were warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and their positive energy really carried the trip. The food was also exceptional—far better than expected on a liveaboard. Every meal was delicious, plentiful, and thoughtfully prepared, and it quickly became one of the highlights of each day.
That said, the condition of the boat itself was extremely disappointing and hard to overlook. The vessel felt very run-down and had a persistent odor reminiscent of a gym locker room throughout most common areas. Unfortunately, our cabin compounded the issue: it was leaking water in multiple locations, which made it uncomfortable and concerning during the trip. This significantly detracted from what could have otherwise been an incredible experience.
In short, the crew and food were truly top-tier and deserve serious praise—but the boat’s condition does not match the quality of the service. With major upgrades, maintenance, and attention to cleanliness, this could be a standout liveaboard. Until then, travelers should be aware that while the people onboard are amazing, the accommodations may fall well below expectations.
First, this was the coolest Liveaboard experience because it was a women-only trip!! Let’s do more of these, please! Second, the crew and staff aboard the Turks & Caicos Ladies Trip were nothing short of amazing!! Special shout outs to Chef Miguel who created elegant and creative cuisine the entire week (cannot thank you enough!!), Amber who organizes every detail throughout the entire trip so that we just loved each day more than the previous one, and Ash who led dive briefings with knowledge and underwater was always checking on each buddy team to make sure we saw creatures big and small! Each of you truly went above and beyond in your respective roles!! Finally, the culture of TCI is so lovely and everyone we met greeted us with warmth and friendly smiles. A great getaway!!
What can I say?? Annie is a legend and this trip was far beyond my expectations.
I obtained my advanced open water and deep dive certifications on this trip so it was a mix of training and purely recreational dives in a perfect balance of fun and growth. I had 6 dives before this trip and now I have 26! I've progressed leaps and bounds in my confidence and proficiencies as a diver. Even the boat chef said if he was choosing someone to train him, he'd pick Annie - and with good reason!! Her teaching style is as warm, patient, and personalized as can be. Her commitment to accessibility in diving is deeply sincere; she is a problem-solver who loves to help people with all kinds of bodies and brains crack the techniques that make diving fun and available to us. I'm so grateful to her and I know I'm not alone.
The boat itself was also wonderful. It was so relaxing that I could trust Blue Crew to choose travel partners that prioritize safety and comfort along with fun. Can't wait for the next one!
Absolutely delightful! I was so grateful to be surrounded by so many powerful, brilliant women, each of whom were incredibly supportive, no matter their level of diving expertise. The crew of the Turks & Caicos Explorer II couldn’t have been better. From the moment we stepped on board until the time we disembarked, we were thoroughly cared for.
Amber and Ashley, in particular, saw to our every need, and their warm hospitality made the entire trip feel extra-special. Every dive site offered something new to marvel at, from exquisitely detailed nudibranchs to curious young nurse sharks.
Miguel, our chef, spoiled us with a wide variety of delicious meals and snacks, thoughtfully accommodating all dietary restrictions. Aside from a couple of nights with unavoidable (and sleep-challenging) ocean swells, the adventure was flawless from start to finish.
I’m so grateful for the dive time, the shared expertise, and the unforgettable memories. I ended the trip a much, much better diver than I was at the start. If there are more ladies’ liveaboards in the future, I’ll be the first to sign up. Thank you for this amazing experience, Blue Crew! 💙
